The 2022 H2 nationals, sponsored by Allen Brothers Fittings, were hosted by the Royal Torbay Yacht Club from 9 to 11 September. Due to the death of Her Majesty the Queen, the first day’s racing was cancelled. Four races were sailed in light winds on each of the following two days. Nick Craig was the popular winner for the second year running, the multiple world dinghy sailing champion dominating the competition. But perhaps the greatest achievement came from second placed Ian Dawson, who is 70 years old this month. He won the Lightweights Trophy, the Grand Masters Trophy (for helms aged 65 to 69) and the Ulysses Trophy (for the oldest competitor).
